This vintage silent film footage shows a range of World War II ordnance developed at MIT, on display at the campus on November 10-12, 1945. More than 75,000 people attended the event, giving the Boston-area public its first opportunity to see the wide variety of new technologies developed during the war. MIT’s future course was inextricably tied to that of the military and industry, and this, in turn, would shape the very nature of future scientific and technological discovery and practice.
